Alamo's Hatch Chili Gravy

Ingredients:

  • 2 four oz cans diced green chilies (not great value). *can sub jalapeños 
  • 1 stick unsalted butter. 
  • 1/3 cup AP flour
  • 3 cups whole milk.
  • Salt and black pepper to taste.
Directions:
  1. Heat the butter and green chilies in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Once the butter has melted, add flour. Stir well.
  3. Add 1 cup of milk at a time, and allow the flour to dissolve into it each time by stirring well. Reduce heat if necessary when gravy gets too thick. 
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste. 
  5. Serve with brined baked chicken , or a Ray's New York bagel from the frozen section of Walmart.
