Brining chicken in salt water is all you need to make juicy, heat-tolerant chicken.
Ingredients for the brine:
- 3-4 pounds frozen chicken breast
- 2.5 - 4 quart storage container with lid
- Enough water to submerge all of the chicken
- 1 tbsp salt
Ingredients for baking (per person)::
- 1 chicken breast (from above)
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Optional seasonings to taste: garlic powder, Italian seasoning, chili powder.
Directions for the brine:
- If using thawed chicken, skip to step 10.
- Empty bag of frozen chicken into bowl according to how many pounds of chicken you're using.
- Cover with water.
- Set a timer for 1 hour.
- Drain water.
- Flip chicken.
- Cover with water again.
- Set another timer for 1 hour.
- Drain water.
- Cover with water and salt.
- Refrigerate for 8-24 hours.
Directions for on-demand chicken;
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Add butter to bowl and microwave for 45 seconds
- Rinse chicken and place it on a baking sheet lined with nonstick foil.
- Pour butter over both sides of chicken and rub in.
- Add seasoning on both sides.
- Bake for 6 minutes.
- Flip, and bake for 6 more minutes.
- Leave in the oven (with it turned off) for about 10 more minutes.
- Slice it, and serve with buttermilk ranch.
