BBQ Pork Ribs in the Dutch Oven

This is one of the BEST uses for a Dutch oven. Mine is a 6-quart ceramic coated cast iron by the brand Lodge from Target. You only need 2 ingredients!

Serve with potato salad, and coleslaw, and maybe even banana pudding

Ingredients:

  • 2 packages (or 6 pounds) pork loin country style ribs (bone-in) from Walmart.
  • 18 ounce bottle Kraft Original Slow-Simmered BBQ sauce.
Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Rinse all of your ribs in a big bowl if water, or under the tap. They're sitting on a diaper - that's why I do that.
  3. Cook them in the Dutch oven over medium-high heat for 20 minutes, stirring every few minutes.
  4. Cover with lid, and bake for 2 hours (note to self: test baking these an additional hour next time).
  5. Remove ribs from stock with tongs, and transfer to a large bowl.
  6. Pour BBQ sauce all over them and stir well.
  7. Place them on a baking sheet lined with nonstick aluminum foil, and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.
Serves about 6 (2 ribs per person).

Note: Strain pork stock through a colander, and save it for other recipes, like Ramen! I use a paper towel to soak the fat off the top before refrigerating.
