Chocolate Not Malt-O-Meal

 


Somehow this ended up tasting exactly like Malt-O-Meal, which I happened to love in the 80’s, but I can’t eat without feeling poopy.

Do you love Malt-O-Meal?

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup oats (old fashioned)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted cultured butter
  • 2 tbsp coconut chia pudding (without cinnamon)
  • 2 squares 95% Lindt dark chocolate 
  • 2 medjool dates
  • 3 tbsp almond flour 
  • 2 tbsp water
Directions:
  1. Heat oats and butter over medium high heat. 1 minute
  2. Add dates (pitted) and stir well. 1 minute 
  3. Add chia pudding, chocolate, and almond flour. Stir well. 
  4. Press dates into the bottom of the pot to form a paste. 
  5. Remove from heat just before the chocolate burns, and add water. Stir. 
  6. Allow to sit for 5 minutes. Stir.
