Of the steaks I've tried, Ribeye's are presently my favorite. I was excited to try them, because I believe they are Mikhaila Peterson's favorite too, and she eats exclusively beef. When Kyle tried them, he said these are his all time favorite steaks. Here's how to make them:
Ingredients:
- 1 Ribeye steak per person.
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying).
- salt and pepper to taste.
Directions:
- I like to fry these in a 6 quart cast iron enamel Dutch oven. Heat it with oil over medium high heat.
- Once the oil is hot enough, place the ribeye, which has been rinsed well under the tap, into the oil.
- Set a timer for 7 minutes. Flip the steak. Only cook 1 steak at a time.
- Set the timer again for 3 minutes.
- Remove steak with tongs and let it hang over the Dutch oven for a few seconds to let the oil drip off.
- Transfer steak to a plate and season with salt and pepper on both sides.
- This steak doesn't actually need to rest. Cut it into bite-sized pieces, and serve.
