Tangy Oat Pepper Sauce

 


Macros: 1447 calories Total. Makes about 13 Cups. 135g/58g/61g

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups rolled oats. 
  • 1/2 cup nutritional yeast
  • 2 tsp onion powder. 
  • 2 tsp salt. 
  • 16 oz. jar fire-roasted red bell peppers. 
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar (any). 
  • 1/4 tsp liquid smoke or 1.5 tsp liquid smoke marinade
  • 4 cups water. 
  • 4 Tbsp. butter. 
Directions:
  1. Add all ingredients to a high speed blender like Vitamix or Blendtec (no Ninja, sorry) and blend using the pre-set soup setting, or 5 minutes. 
Note: If you have to use a lower powered blender, then you'll have to heat the mixture afterwards on the stove until the oats cook. You might also want to pre-grind the oats using a coffee grinder, or opt for store-bought oat flour (if there is such a thing).
